The poverty cycle - Economics-123

Respect to this gentleman obviously pained by the African poverty cycle dilemma. Stupidity is an inbred trait. Sadly the leaders that fought for independence were the geniuses of their time. Most of them rose from obscurity, studied beyond University, often went abroad, were starters of unique endeavours and took the colonial masters up to uncover the deceit of colonialism. They secured independence for their country.

The knowledge-power-wealth route as described was certainly what they applied. Sadly subsequent generations of leaders were not true breds. They were either incidental products of coups or opportunists from political thuggery. These groups know they got there through usurping power or paying their way! And like begets like.

Most brilliant minds seeing the decadence and the proclivities have either been silenced or they resign themselves to private enterprises or like 'Andrew' to leave for the diaspora.

The poverty-cycle trap is sadly maintained by the wholesale abandoning of education across all tiers.  We are breeding more illiterates whose gods are their bellies and have sold or killed their children for pennies! If a nation like Nigeria could allow a half-bred to become president, a man whose oratory is akin to a babbling toddler as a result of cognitive impairment, and whose claim to education is a "Jo-ja-ra-jo" mindless rehash of diktat; we are indeed doomed. The Enahoros, Aminu Kanus, Awolowos, Azikiwes, Kwame Nkrumahs, Patrice Lumumbas etc will shudder in their graves how low we have fallen.

We all are suffering for the buffoonery we have allowed into the circles of leadership.
We all share the pain of the gentleman in the video. We are all unfortunately outwitted by the clown who through jest and tout has taken the Kings crown.

There was a country once led by men but "The man died" and things have since fallen apart.
